He was born in Mifflintown PA. Husband of Inez Belford. He taught school and moved to Riverhead in 1884. Mr. MrCrum graduated from Dickinson College in 1871. He studied law & was admitted to the bar in 1889. He was Secretary and Chairman of the Suffolk County Republican Committee; Clerk of the Suffolk Surrogate Court. In 1896 he was elected to the US House of Representatives and served one term, 1897 to 1899. He was a Delegate to the Republican National Convention. He served as Suffolk Surogate Court Judge from 1904 to 1910.
