*Doviak, the more common, American spelling of this Polish surname used by this Lewis County Family. Cf. Doviak, Fred J. (1921-1999) to see his name as it appears on the other side of this monument. Although his legal given name was Ferdinand, those who knew him called him Fred.
Most were unaware of his actual given name.
