Possible maiden name = Messerve.
Her stone reads: In Memory of Melliscent, wife of John Combs.
who died Apr. 12, 1815. E. S. Z.
Note from photographer:
John Combs stone is almost unreadable as are many of the stones in this old cemetery. The small writing is almost nonexistant. I looked at the photo I took and I can't make out anything either. I don't know how long it has lain on the ground but the ice and snow have taken their toll. In a few more years, there won't be anything recognizeable. I thought of maybe trying to make a rubbing to see if something would come through. However, Melliscent's stone was upright and in better condition. It is there that the info is found that she is the wife of John Combs. They are next to each other also which is another clue. -E.Geisbusch
