Not listed under his given name on the roster for the 56th N.Y. Infantry.
However, on his widow Alice's 1911 Pension Application it lists her husband as having an Alias of "Thomas Maher". Thomas Maher (Mayher) is on the roster and enlisted in N.Y.C. He was mustered in on 10/28/1863 as private, Co. H; mustered out 10/17/1865, at Charleston, SC.
