Jacob was a shoemaker and a Market Gardener. He lived in Webster and Irondequiot (Hudson Ave near Titus)
Jacob is thought to be a somewhat stern or serious man who made sure that his family took enough time for religious study and worship.
Margeret was from Illeshire, Sauder or Landes, Germany and married Jacob in 1856. They had 8 children, 2 girls and 6 boys. Several of the boys had homes near Jacob on Hudson Ave. in Irondequoit.
