Solomon BROWN (RW)

July 2, 1815 Mumford, Monroe co.

Solomon was converted to the Baptist faith at 15 years of age. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War from Hancock, MA After the war he became a Baptist preacher, ordained in November 1791. He was the first minister of the Wheatland Baptist Church, with later pastorates at Canaan, Hebron, Peru, Jay and Mumford, NY.
Solomon Brown, (1757-1815), enlisted under different commands and was a brave, fearless soldier. He served throughout the revolution as his monument at Wheatland, N. Y., testifies. He was born in Amenia, N. Y.
