VISSCHER, James D. - Age 33 yrs. Enrolled Sept. 3, 1862, at Albany to serve 3 yrs; mustered in as Capt, Co. G, Sept. 4, 1862; transferred to Co. E, Dec. 20, 1863; retransferred to Co. G, Feb. 12, 1864; mustered in as Lieut. Col, June 19, 1864; killed July 12, 1864, near Fort Stevens, DC; Commissioned Capt. Nov 11, 1862, with rank from Sept. 4, 1862, vice JH Chatfield resigned; Lieut. Col, June 14, 1864, with rank from May 12, 1864, vice J. Fryer, died of wounds.
