125th N.Y. Vol. Infantry:
CLAPP, ELAM S.P. - Age, 20 years. Enrolled, 08/11/1862, at Troy, to serve 3 years; mustered in as corporal, Co. H, 08/27/1862; surrendered, 09/15/1862, and paroled, 09/16/1862, at Harper's Ferry, Va.; mustered in as second lieutenant, Co. A, 09/01/1863; as first lieutenant, 12/05/1863; wounded in action, 05/12/1864, at Spotsylvania, Va.; died of his wounds, 06/05/1864, in hospital.
Commissioned second lieutenant, 06/19/1863, with rank from 03/07/1863, Vice E.G. Barto promoted; first lieutenant, 11/25/1863, with rank from 07/03/1863, Vice John Quay promoted.
