* For many years, John was the principal at General Martin Central School (K-12) in Glenfield, Lewis, New York. The worst thing that could happen to a kid was being sent to his office, or so we were told. The contributor was never sent there, at least not for disciplinary action.
About four months before John died, the contributor asked him to proof read his master's thesis. John willingly obliged and made a number of useful suggestions. He and his wife both found the contributor's work impressive.
